Kate Hunter

I grew up in Tacoma and graduated from the University of Washington in 2012. I couldn’t find a job that satisfied my craving to encounter new people and hear their stories, but somewhere along the line found that hair would allow my skills to intersect with my passions!

It is because of my love for working with my hands, making people feel good, and being creative that I ended up enrolling in the cosmetology program at Gary Manuel and the rest is history!

I chose to work at Vasuda because of their belief that a stylist should know how to work with all hair types! My training under Emmett continues to be invaluable!

In a world divided in so many ways, I thought it would be beneficial to work in an unbiased arena, in a place that bridges gaps. My time under Emmett and at Vasuda made me confident to launch Kalon, which is a place I can do just that.

I believe that a hair appointment should be a treat and not a chore so I place equal importance on the shampoo and styling aspect of the service (self care is important and let’s be real, the wash is the best part of the service!)
